私たちの短編映画 『Der Turm』(The Tower) は、ヴィクター・フランケンシュ
タインと彼が創造したクリーチャーの無益さを、隠喩的な物語を通して描いてい
る。そしてそれは、視聴者が複数の解釈をすることを可能にする。ヴィクターが
欲望を満たそうと努力するのと同様に、映画の中で光に辿り着こうとする努力は、
社会に溶け込もうとするクリーチャーの試みに似ていて、そして毎回拒絶されキャ
ラクターを徐々に破壊していく。光は決して叶うことのない願いの象徴であり、
それに辿り着こうとする強迫観念が最後に人物を死に至らしめる。最後のショッ
トでは、他の遺骨の中にその人物の遺骨があるのが見え、終わりのない循環を暗
示している。
Our short film “Der Turm”(The Tower) depicts the theme of futility of Viktor
Frankenstein and the creature he created through a metaphoric narrative,
which allows viewers to interpret it in more than one way. Throughout the
movie the endeavour to reach the light gradually destroys the character, similar
to the creatures attempt to integrate into society, which rejects him every time
as well as Viktors effort to fulfil his desire. The Light symbolizes a wish, that
could never come true and the obsession of reaching it kills the character in the
end. The final shot reveals the remains of the character among other remains
and hints of a never-ending circle.
