タイトル・コンセプトについて
怪物という言葉だけ聞くと、どんなイメージを思い浮かべるだろう。不気味な見た目、恐ろしい考えを持っている、あるいは物語でよく描かれる敵のイメージをするかもしれない。怪物「monster」の語源である「moneo」には「知らせる、警告」という意味がある。本来、怪物とは何かを警告し、私たちに危機知らせるものとして存在しているのである。しかし、私たちは怪物の表面上の恐ろしさばかりに気を取られ、その本質に気づくことができない。怪物と同様、現代に起こる様々な事件や現象も同じように恐れられ、非難されるが、その根本には社会的な大きな問題が潜んでいる。怪物たちは私たちに何を伝えたかったのか。表面上の情報だけに惑わされず、物事の本質を見極めるきっかけにしてほしい。
小説「フランケンシュタイン」
科学者であるヴィクター・フランケンシュタインは、自然科学に興味を持ったことを発端として、人造人間を生み出す。しかし、彼は自分の手で生み出した命ある者を「怪物」と呼び、創造主としての責任を放棄したのである。その瞬間こそが自身の人生を狂わせる始まりとなった。
一方、フランケンシュタインに見捨てられた怪物は、言葉も感情も知らない純粋な存在であった。たった1人で生き、知性や感情を少しずつ獲得していく。次第に自分の居場所を求めるようになるが、その恐ろしい姿故に人間から酷い扱いを受け続け、心が歪み始めていく…。
一方、フランケンシュタインに見捨てられた怪物は、言葉も感情も知らない純粋な存在であった。たった1人で生き、知性や感情を少しずつ獲得していく。次第に自分の居場所を求めるようになるが、その恐ろしい姿故に人間から酷い扱いを受け続け、心が歪み始めていく…。
About Title and Concept
When you hear just the word monster, what image comes to mind? You may think of an eerie appearance, a frightening idea, or an enemy often portrayed in stories. The word “monster” is derived from the word “moneo,” which means “to inform or warn. Originally, a monster exists to warn us of something, to warn us of danger. However, we are so preoccupied with the surface horror of monsters that we fail to recognize their true nature. Like monsters, the various incidents and phenomena of our time are equally feared and condemned, but at the root of them lies a major social problem. What did the monsters want to tell us? I hope that this film will serve as an opportunity for us to discern the true nature of things, and not be misled by superficial information alone.

Victor Frankenstein, a scientist, created man-made beings, stemming from his interest in natural science. However, he abdicated his responsibility as creator by calling the living being he created a “monster. That moment was the beginning of his own life-altering journey.
On the other hand, the monster abandoned by Frankenstein was a pure being who knew neither words nor emotions. Living alone, he gradually acquires intelligence and emotions. Gradually, it begins to seek its own place in the world, but because of its hideous appearance, it continues to be treated badly by humans, and its mind begins to warp….
